Ways To Have Your Say!

Chat to your line manager

Your line manager is your first point of contact – they are there to answer your questions, provide updates, offer support, keep you informed, and help you feel connected as a valued part of the SCMG Community.

If you feel you can’t speak to your immediate line manager, link in with their manager. If you’re not sure who that is, take a look on our structure chart.

Suggestion boxes

Each site now has a centrally located suggestion box in the staff room. These are for everyone to use – whether you have an idea, feedback, a suggestion, or simply want to give a colleague a shout-out.

Site supervisors review the boxes regularly and ensure all comments are passed on to the relevant teams. It’s a simple, tried-and-tested way to share your thoughts and help shape improvements across SCMG. Please do use them – your voice genuinely matters and we’re here to listen.

The HR Team

Our dedicated Human Resources team is primarily based at Crescent Providence Surgery, but they regularly visit all sites to build and maintain strong relationships with staff across the organisation.

They are always accessible via phone or Email and are available to provide advice and guidance on a wide range of employment-related matters – from policies and procedures to wellbeing and workplace support. You can also arrange to meet in person at the most convenient surgery. Whatever the issue, the HR team is here to help.

Freedom to Speak Up

Chris Kennedy is the Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) Guardian for SCMG and is available to provide confidential guidance and support on a wide range of issues.

The FTSU Guardian role sits outside of line management, HR, and whistleblowing policies, offering staff an additional, independent route to raise concerns or seek advice. This role has been in place since April 2024 and serves as a valuable resource to further strengthen our culture of openness, trust, and support. If you ever feel unsure where to turn, Chris is here to help.

Appreciation

Have you ever felt uplifted after a chat with a colleague? Has someone made a real difference to your day – maybe by making you a cuppa when you needed it most, or bringing a smile after a tough moment?

Take a moment to let them know! Even better, give them a shout-out in the monthly Staff Newsletter. We love hearing stories that reflect the kindness, support, and community spirit that make SCMG such a special place to work. Let’s celebrate those everyday acts that make a big difference.
