South Coast Medical is proud to be part of the National Data and Device Bank initiative, working to tackle digital exclusion among our patients by partnering with the Good Things Foundation, the UK’s leading charity for digital inclusion.
Digital access is revolutionising the way we interact with our healthcare providers. From skipping the queues and getting medical advice via an Online Consultation, to treating long-term conditions on an approved app such as VISO, access to technology and digital skills is more crucial than ever.
We’re working hard to ensure that all of our patients can benefit from these initiatives, and that nobody is left behind. Our partnership with the Good Things Foundation allows us to provide the following services to our patients:
National Data Bank
Being a part of the National Data Bank, we can provide patients in need with free mobile data, texts and calls*. Think of it like a “food bank”, but for internet connectivity. The National Data Bank has been built with support from Virgin Media O2, and with data donated by Vodafone, Three, and VM O2.
National Device Bank
The National Device Bank allows us to provide refurbished laptops, mobile phones and tablets, to patients who may not have access to a device*. The devices we distribute are generously donated from public and private sector organisations, who contribute their end-of-life tech for reuse instead of disposal.
*We will be offering these services subject to availability of SIM cards and devices from the Good Things Foundation
