Recognising the importance of recycling as much as possible, we’ve invested in creating a recycling corner in each of our waiting rooms. Medicine blister packaging and batteries can now both be recycled at your Surgery! There are also posters and leaflets with further information about recycling, as well as a cardboard recycling bin.

Medicinal Packaging and Blister Pack Recycling Box
We can accept empty blister packs, vitamin bottles and pill bottles in our dedicated bins. Once filled, the box and its contents will be appropriately recycled by Refactory, a professional recycling organisation.
To ensure the scheme runs smoothly, please see below examples of items we can and cannot accept. Please note that we can only accept empty packaging and cannot take anything containing medication.
Do
- Medicinal blister packaging
- Plastic pill bottles
- Vitamin bottles
- Plastic vials
- Plastic syringes (no sharps included, must be emptied of liquid and washed out)
Don’t
- Anything containing medication
- Aerosols and Inhalers – these can be recycled at your Pharmacy
- Cardboard packaging – this can go into your household recycling bin
Battery Recycling Box
Our recycling corners also have battery recycling bins provided by Valpak, a platinum rated recycling organisation. Please see below which types of batteries we can accept. Please note we cannot accept larger industrial or car batteries, or any battery with a wire connected.
